Thousands of devotees of Sri Sri Sri Satya Sai baba consider him as the avatar of the earlier avatar Shirdi Sai Baba!! There are others who do not accept him as an avatar! Swami's avatar was predicted even before the samadhi of Sri Shirdi Sai! Avatar takes place for protecting Dharma and establishing it! Gitacharya says God takes human form to protect the followers of Dharma and destroy the perpetrators of adharma or Evil!" Parithranaya sadhunam vinasayach dushkrutham Dharma samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yugeyuge"
How can we call him an avatar? When Krishna was born many miracles happened! He gave vision to Devaki with four hands, sankha, & chakra before withdrawing that form!! Miracles do happen when Avatars come down to earth!! When swami was born a cobra was found by his side to the amazement of all the family members! Musical instruments in the house began playing by themselves heralding the advent of the Avatar! His early life is full of the 'leelas' which others could not comprehend & looked upon with suspicion!! When the Teacher asked him to stand on the bench in the class,the chair stuck up to him and he could not move out! The sooner Young Sai got down, the chair released the Teacher! Swami could answer any question on the scriptures without reading any one of them!
"My life is my message" says Swami! He was totally selfless & did every thing for the welfare of the people especially the poor and the downtrodden! He established schools, colleges, universities where education is totally free & which no elected Government at the State or the center could do!! He provided drinking water to the starving villages & to Chennai facing water shortage!! University education also is free in his university! His Super Specialty Hospitals provide free medical aid to one and all irrespective of caste, creed, community, race & religion!! Which government has done such a thing in the world? Swami says that education & medical aid must be free for all people!!
The greatest thing that qualifies Swami as an avatar is the spiritual awakening that he has brought in all the nations of the world! He has reformed criminals, cheats, & several evil minded persons and brought them back to morality & spirituality!! Sri Satya Sai Seva organization was created & they are doing yeomen service to humanity inspired by the teachings of swami! We can say that swami is unparalleled in his service to humanity and that is what every Avatar has to do!! He has said" There is only one religion, the religion of LOVE" "Faith is like our life-breath,it is impossible to live even for a minute in this world without Faith!" There cannot be any two opinions on swami's Avatarhood!
