Mantra: asadwa edemagra
asith
tatho vai sada jayatha…
The world , which has
Paramatma as its cause had no name or form and other attributes and un manifest
before it was created. But it developed name and form and attributes
soon after it was created. Brahman created the world by its own will and
without any implements! So it is self created. This is the form of rasa or
essence. By experiencing this rasa or essence the individual is happy. If this
form of bliss is absent in the space of the heart ( hrudayakasa) there cannot
be any movement or activity( chaitanya) in the world. A sadhaka will reach s fearless state only when he
remains fearless regarding atma which is unseen by the senses, formless and
indescribable. A person, whether a pandita or not –if
he sees the Brahman as different or separate, shall have the feeling of fear.
The three
questions posed in the previous anuvaka are answered here. 1 A scholar or
vidwan fixed in the atma becomes Brahman himself and remains fearless according
to siddhanta. 2 An ordinary layman, because of his divisive and differentiating
outlook involves himself in the cycle of birth and death and samsara( family life).
Though a scholar or vidwan, by considering the atma as different in day to day
life, he loses the identical or unitary aspect of the Brahman. Even the small
feeling of difference in ‘atma’ dumps him into the fearful cycle of birth and
death. He can never attain the Brahman!
Even the
devas with their brahmagnana are unable to experience forever their
concentration intensely on atma gnana. They conduct themselves afraid of this
fact. A mantra is given to illustrate this fact.
