Brahmavignanechathurthaparyaya(Fourth Attempt
at Bbrahmavignana)
….
Meaning: Through his rigorous penance, sage Bhrugu knew that Vignana is verily the Brahman as all creation, protection, and destruction are due to it But again the doubt lingered in him that vignana cannot be considered as the BRAHMAN.
He
requested his father to instruct him on the Brahman again. Varuna, his father,
instructed him to continue his penance again and understand the Brahman as
tapas itself is the Brahman. Sage Bhrugu continued his tapas.
According
to Sruthi: “vignanam yagnam thanuthe” it becomes the doer or kartha. The doer is subjected to sorrow or
grief. Brahma is not the doer or kartha. He has no sorrow or grief. so sage
Bhrugu was certain that vignanam is not the Brahman.
Through
vignana and its activities bodies can be created but not elements like akasa or
the sky. so vignana cannot be the
Brahman.
Vignana
is the cause of livelihood and it is also the cause of death and destruction
during battles and wars.
